Cabin Update: inside views

This above picture is taken from the north end of the upstairs game room. The window looks out the front side of the cabin. Two doors on the right side lead to the boys' bunk room on the left and the girls' bunk room on the right.

The above picture is a view taken from the north end of the great room, showing both upstairs and downstairs fireplaces.

This is a view taken off of the loft, looking down on the north end of the "great room". The TV will hopefully be mounted on the wall, where it can be visualized from both floor levels.

This above photo is the upstairs fireplace... located in the loft that overlooks the "great room".

The above photo is the fireplace (two-way fireplace)... taken from the side of the entryway (foyer). Mantle has not been installed yet. The chimney narrows on the second floor.

The above picture is a view of the downstairs fireplace from the side of the "great room". We like the rock work..... hope you do, too. The mantle hasn't been installed yet.

Cabin Update: outside views

This picture is taken just to the left of the entrance to the cabin. The window on the left behind the tree is from my "den" (equipped with a sofa-bed to be used as a bedroom in times of need).

The above picture is the southwest corner of the cabin. The garage is on the left, with an accessory "man door" between the pillars. The boys' room is upstairs on the left. The game room (play room) is to the right of that. Front porch an entrance on the far right.

This is the west end of the cabin. Garage on the bottom floor. Top floor is the girls' room on the left and the boys' room on the right. We love the garage door!

The above picture is the back of the cabin. The two small windows are the upstairs and downstairs smaller bathrooms. The windows on the right are from the play room upstairs, with the garage on the bottom floor. This shows what the cedar shake shingles will look like on the sides of the cabin (see below). All the siding will be stained to look the same color, however. The stain will still show the wood grain and knotholes clearly.

The above shot is the northeast corner of the home, with a door coming from the "great room" to the small covered deck. There will be a rock patio off of the deck. The four large windows are the two story portion of the great room. We love this siding. Cedar shake shingles will cover the currently bare spots.

The above photo is the southeast corner of the home, with the sun room on the left and the kitchen windows on the right. The Batten board (?sp?) isn't quite done yet. And the bare spots on the siding will be done in cedar shake shingles.

Obviously, this is the front of the cabin. We are very pleased with the rock work. The sun room is on the right, the family room is recessed in the middle, and the front door is on the left behind the ladder. The den and the garage are out of the picture to the left.

Cabin Update #2

Hey, I'm still trying to figure out how to get the script next to the correct photos. So it's taking me too long to enter these pictures of the cabin. And it is too late tonight. I'll try again tomorrow.
Love, Dad

Cabin Update:

This post will contain mostly pictures of the OUTSIDE of the cabin. The photo to the left, on the other hand, is taken from inside the sun room looking out at the front deck and entry area to the front door. You can't see the front door, but it is right of the two rock pillars.

The photo below is taken from just outside and to the left of the front door.

Cleveland

Hello my fambily!

Just thought I'd post some pictures of the trip to Cleveland in August... Some of them turned out super-cute!

Scott & Kara took us out to an amazing restaurant called "Melt!" Every item on the menu was some form of grilled cheese sandwich. Delicious! Eli seemed more amused by the decor.A view of Cleveland from the top of Scott's building.
One morning I dressed in a hurry so I could go hang out with my nephews. I put my levi's on and thought "Man! I've REALLY gained a lot of weight. These hardly fit me anymore and they were too big when I first bought them." I then realized I'd put on a pair of Betsey's pants. Hah!
The following pictures are of us having fun in the car while Kara drove us to the river.

Gooooood times! Thanks so much for having us Scott & Kara. :)
